Latest SmartWare firmware release R5.3  by Mike Huarca
Patton-Inalp just released SmartWare version 5.3. It can be downloaded free of charge here. This release is the most feature-rich to date and includes exciting new functionality, like a free version of the SIP Registrar license. 5.3 will replace SmartWare 4.2 as the factory-shipped firmware in February 2009... The new "high precision clock" SmartNode models  by Marco Liechti
You might have read in the press that there are new SmartNode models featuring a “high precision” clock. These are variations of existing SmartNodes and are sold as model codes  4961, 4635 and 4639. We claim the new models eliminate interoperability failures that typically occur with DECT, PBX and FAX equipment when converting ISDN systems to IP telephony.

How-to: Register SIP phones with your SmartNode  by Marco Liechti
An exciting upgrade has been made to the most recent SmartWare release, R5.3: Up to three SIP phones can now be registered on every SmartNode, without the need for an additional license. This paves the way for everybody to test out the great SIP registrar feature. The feature has been released previously, but was only functional with the purchase of an optional software license key.
