Swisscom Selects Patton CPE for Business Connect VoIP Service12.11.2014 |
BERNE, SWITZERLAND: Patton ElectronicsUS-manufacturer of award-winning SmartNode VoIP and other networking equipmentannounced today that Swisscom has selected the SmartNode 5300 as the customer-premise enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) for its new Business Connect SIP-Trunking phone service for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). The Swisscom Business Connect service delivers the cost savings of flat-rate SIP Telephonyincluding free intra-office callingwhile integrating a customers existing IP PBX with a Swisscom SIP trunk and virtual switchboard. "The SmartNode ESBR is an essential part of our service," said Daniel Suter, Product Manager for Swisscom Business Connect. Patton provides a unique combination of valuable capabilities that streamline the installation and turn-up of a Business Connect SIP trunk." Ideal for carrier-providers that offer SIP-trunking services for SMEs, Pattons SmartNode 5300 Enterprise Session Border Router (ESBR) comes with an auto-provisioning solution that eliminates truck rolls, as detailed in Pattons recently published white paper. Using Pattons cloud-based SmartNode Redirection Service to request, download, and install a customized configuration file for the Swisscom service, the SN5300 automatically activates the SIP trunk when powered up on the customer premise. SmartNode Split Management Domain protects the Swisscom WAN-facing configuration from any (perhaps inadvertent) subscriber meddling while protecting the customers LAN-facing configuration against WAN intrusion. The SmartNode installation wizard makes it quick and easy for subscribers to set up the LAN side of the connection. Patton's ESBR accelerates certification of customer IP PBX and UC systems by an order of magnitude," Suter added. From testing to implementation, the Patton team has been extremely responsive throughout the project. Launched over a decade ago, Pattons extensive interoperability program assures interoperability of SmartNode VoIP devices with every significant VoIP product and service on the market today. The Patton E-SBC provides a SIP normalization function that ensures any customer-premise IP PBX or Unified Communications system will interoperateand quickly certifywith the providers SIP service. SmartNode devices are industry-renowned for set-it-forget-it reliability. The SN5300 provides a secure WAN/LAN demarc with protocol normalization for 4 to 256 concurrent SIP-to-SIP calls. Combined with industry-standard upstream QoS, Pattons DownStreamQos ensures high-quality voice within the subscriber premise. Like all Patton products, the SN5300 comes with Pattons Gold-Standard Free Support at no additional charge. Pattons Platinum-Plus Premium 24/7 Support is also available.
